by Jen 27 days agoBit of a novice to comps so sorry for the pesky questions but does anyone know if you put the title of the story on every page and does it count towards the word count? also - in people's experience is it better to post or send an online submission? thanks Jenx

by Philippa 1 month agoHi everyone,
I have set up a private group called "Group Critiques for Bridport Prize ", for anyone who wants to share pieces for help editting / polishing for submission to the Bridport Prize Competition -
by Philippa 1 month agoHi All
GOOD NEWS! I got this reply (and my response) from the Bridport organisers:
__________
Dear Frances
This certainly answers the question. I think the WordCloud posts would come under "workshopped on a members only writers' forum" (they are drafts-for-comment and only members can view them).
I now look forward to entering your competition
many thanks again for your help

Dear Philippa
It's a minefield - this internet thing! If you've published a poem on a poetry/magazine/... website and it's viewable by anyone, then we count that as previously published. If it's been workshopped on a members only writers' forum then we don't. Hope that clarifies your situation. My advice is always to keep completely unseen any work you might wish to submit to a competition. Most of them don't allow internet publication...
Best wishes
Frances

by Philippa 1 month agoHello all,
I have decided to bite the bullet and enter this. Did you do a group?
And how many entries are you planning to submit? (I note there's no 3 for £10-style offer!) -
by Ele 1 month agoI think I'll wait for the critique on my Mslexia entry before submitting - but I aim to enter. 5,000 words is quite long and I may end up waffly if I'm not careful! I'd value feedback, I think...
