Much as I appreciate Russel T Davies bringing Dr Who back I'm so
glad he's gone now, and taken all his spectacular melodramatic crap
with him, to make way for a writer. Stephen Moffat's
always been the best writer the series had and having him in charge
has already made a difference. That said the opening with the
TARDIS over London was weird. Did anyone else feel that might have
been added? And that the Doctor's real introduction was when he
stuck his head out of the crashed TARDIS, so we meet him same time
as Amy?

I thought it was a cracking start to the new series. I've been a
fan of Dr. Who since I was a wee lad hiding behind the sofa while
Jon Pertwee did the damage.
The last two doctors have been the best IMHO, they've had some fun
with the part and I wonder whether it's because they were also the
youngest. That said, I was a little worried that the new lad
wouldn't have the presence to carry the part but, having tuned in
last night, I shouldn't have feared. He did an excellent job.
I missed the first couple of minutes so I can't help with the
comment about the tardis appearing over London.
Half the fun for me is trying to guess the twists. I guessed she
was getting married as soon as she said that she needed to be
somewhere tomorrow morning. I had her down as a stripper in that
uniform and wasn't too far off - my idea would have been more fun
and could have increased the budget for the next series with a
centre fold or two ;c).
I would love to see a big budget film. Y'know, something that has
had £50,000,000 or so thrown at it.
