I have just joined this website. I am somewhat old 62 and unfamiliar with this medium. If I post a message, where do I go to read an answer? Any help navigating this site would be appreciated. I did ask a gentleman who helps run this website if there were meeting places where aspiring writers, established, potential writers meet to discuss their concerns. He seemed quite quite horrified that people should want to meet. If there is answer to this email, where do I go to read it? Maybe I should stick to quill and parchment. Michael Graves

Welcome to the Cloud, Mike. I know how confusing it can be at first to find your way round a new site, but it's easy to get the hang of this one once you understand how it's designed.

The answer to your post appears wherever you posted it. So here is the answer to your question, to accompany the question itself. If someone writes a message on your wall (the panel that appears on your profile page) and you want to respond you can click on that person's name, which takes you to their profile page and you can then write a message in Your Comment box at the top of their wall. If you just want to make a general comment, you can write on your own wall. If you write a blog, any comments on it will appear in the comments section below it. If you want to post something for critique, you post it in the appropriate bit of the Critiques section.

Good luck!

Mike - there are people of all ages on this site, along with all levels of familiarity with non-quill-&-parchment-type technology! Everyone is pretty friendly and united by a desire to write so no-one will bite your head off if it takes you a while to get to grips with it.

As well as the good advice Spangles has given you, you can also send private messages to people if you want to. I'll try sending one to you as a test and you can let me know if you get it!

Enjoy the Word Cloud - I have been here for 18 months and have got a lot out of it. The difficulty now is keeping away when I'm meant to be working...

Oh yes, if you tick the boy "notify me by email" here below, you should get an email to tell you each time someone responds.
