Just a message to say that am safe. live in Iwate, one of the most
affected prefectures. My attendance at the festival is in doubt
though. Currently the only way out of Iwate is by emergency
vehicle. Please say a prayer for my friends who are still missing.
If you would like to donate to help rescue and rebuikding efforts
you can do so through the Red Cross button on amazon.com. Sorry I
can not link. Typing on my kindle. Still without internet.

It is good to know you're safe, Claire. I've said a prayer for your
friends and am keeping everyone in Japan, or who has loved ones in
Japan, in my thoughts.

I'm so relieved that you're here, Claire - we've watched the
unfolding events with horror. Of course I'll send up a prayer for
your missing friends - and for all the others. It's an unbelievable
catastrophe. Stay strong.

Good to hear from you, Claire, and to know that you are okay. Or as
okay as you can be. Take care.

What a relief you're safe, Claire. I looked at the location of
Iwate as soon as I heard about the earthquake, and I've been
holding my breath. You and your friends are in my prayers and those
of all my church community. Take good care, and take as many hugs
as you can from all our words here on the Word Cloud.
Love

Iwatched the news about the quake with a lump in my throat - what a
terrible thing. So many disasters happen around the world, but
Japan's earthquake, tsunami and nuclear emergency has been
exceptionally tragic, in a country which has had more than its fair
share of such things. The stoicism of the Japanese people is to be
greatly admired and respected. I hope that the reactors are swiftly
brought under control, and that effective international aid helps
the survivors of this multiple tragedy to rebuild their lives.

So relieved to hear that you physically safe, Claire. You have been
in my thoughts ever since I first heard the terrible news. Thank
you so much for taking the time to let us know. I join with others
in assuring you that you have our prayers and hopes that you have
good news about your missing friends. This is beyond awful and I
doubt if any of us can imagine what you are going through.
I wish you strength. In as far as it's possible, we are all with
you and hope you will be able to come here as often as you are able
to update us if it helps to share your experiences in words.

It is good to know you're safe. Our whole church was praing for you
all on Sunday and I continue to pray for you and all those
affected. It's hard to believe the devastation we are seeing on the
news, but that's only the physical chaos. I pray, too, that you
will recover from the terrible disruption to your lives and the
trauma you have been through. Here's the link to Amason that Claire
referred to, if anyone wants to donate:

Just seeing the footage on tv makes me think about what you've
been through.
Take care

There are lots of ways to donate. Have you heard about Authors for
Japan? It's an auction of donated items from authors (which I was
too slow to notice) eg critiques, signed books etc.
See here
http://authorsforjapan.wordpress.com/2011/03/14/welcome-to-authors-for-japan-heres-how-it-works/
Bidding has already started.
I hope you manage to get back in here at some point, Claire. We're
all thinking of you.

Hi guys, thanks for the love and prayers. Because the train lines
are broken I won't be able to get out. So it's official, I'm out. I
guess I'll see you next year.
In good news, they found my friend, Bobby! Hoping the others are
in similar situations (fine, but without cell phone service).

Take care, Claire. We'll try and get as much as the flavour of the
festival to you as possible via the magic of the Word Cloud.

Claire - I've spoken to the Festival organisers and said I would
like to do a personal report for you. I know I wasn't one of the
1-1s you booked - and I also know that this is only a small thing -
but it's something practical I can offer rather than just words of
sympathy.
They tell me you had already submitted the material and I've asked
them to forward it to me. I hope this is OK.
