16th Century Alehouse

Stagger in to our 16th century alehouse, with every beverage ever produced in constant stock. The Tudor exterior is not faux wood stuck onto brick, it is a genuine venue, steeped in history, with an atmospheric bar and lounge, furnished with genuine pieces from the period. The read leather wingback chairs by the roaring fireplace in the lounge may not quite be as old as 16th Century, but there are certainly no fruit machines in the corner to spoil it at all.

Ahhhh. I do like it in here. [Puts feet up on poof by the fire]. Thanks, Julian. Another pint of fine stout in my hand, and I can get away from the melee out there.

I think this is my favourite little corner of WordCloud. Could be spending a lot of time in here.

Yes I like it too, don't care much for this tankard of Mead though.   I think I'll get something else.

Thes red leather wingbacks, where did you finally pick them up then?  I hunted everywhere for 16th century stuff and Ikea had nothing.

I think Julien is the new barman. Haven't you seen him yet ? Then you're in for a surprise.

Julian, a new barman? Hope he looks like Hugh Jackman!
My own Julian could never work as a barman... he'd bite all the lady customers...that wouldn't be very good.

Oi, my Julian is no poof hee hee. However, I am not familiar with your barman Julian and now I have this image from Monty Python of someone wearing a pink tutu!

This now reminds me, I better go back to the restaurant and order some SPAM!!!!

Was thinking about this Alehouse - I've got pictures of me dressed up in medievil costume for a theam evening at Camelot, where everyone became wenches and perhaps masters... over a dinner party - in fact it was a company end of year party.

It was alot of fun, but boy the costumes were very hot....

Don't worry Alannah - I know your boy is not a poof. Same on you, Steve.

Chanty:- one of my good friends hired a castle in Wales for his 30th over a weekend. ALL of the guests came in costume: 50 odd knights, 50 odd queens & princesses, a smattering of peasants and a dragon (fantastic comedy value, and no, it wasn't me). I doubt there is any more fun to be had than medieval banqueting and the rest. And watching the dragon trying to sit down to join the rest of us... wrestling to get his tail out of the way.

For the record, I was a K-niggit who said 'Ni,' complete with chain mail sporting self-made badges of all the Holy Grail beasts I had slain - each a little red-fringed circle with a diagonal line through it.

He's a lumberjack...
*clears throat* He's a lumberjack, and he's okay. He sleeps all night and he works all day.

Steve, your costumer sounds hilarious.
"We are the knights who say NI!"

I'm just going to sit over here in the corner and look out the window. And ponder on what life is all about.
Please bring me a Margarita Julian.

Steve: - that's hysterical - I'd like to see you in a knights costume - hee he I love dress up, it's so much fun.

We should arrange something like that some time in the future, with our friends on the cloud - obviously when you and I are in the UK.. I think it would be good fun, certain that others on the cloud would be keen.

Wow - a castle - must have been fab. Love history and old buildings / castles..
