Hi,
After years of loyal service, my old Motorola MicroTAC died recently and I replaced it with one of these new fandangled smart phone (android). Discovered to my utter delight (and my wife's horror) that I could used the 'memo' app to write on my daily commute. 40 minutes each way for writing - devine!

'Memo' is not a great tool for the task though and I was wondering what other apps people might be using for their magnum opus? Any suggestions?

Is it difficult with the keys, or do you get into a groove with them? How does it impact your battery's power? I catch two buses each way, so my ears pricked up at your post!

I am nervous that RSI will set in with the thumbs, but I can't stop myself. I have a Galaxy W so it's all screen and the phone often mis-interprets what I want to type, but it does the job. Now I'm simply looking for a decent bit of app for the task. Frankly, I'm not sure one can really write a novel on one of these little things, but you can certainly bang out segments/ideas and paste them together later. At present I type off 1500 characters in 'memo' and email it to hotmail. Then start up another 1500 characters. Not really ideal.

There is an app called "My writing spot" ( http://www.mywritingspot.com/android ) which you need to buy - I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this? Otherwise there aren't many alternative (market opportunity for someone!!!).

On a side note - I've also found that I can't write comments on the cloud from the android - does anyone know anything about this sort of stuff? Is there an app for the cloud?
Going ape for apps,
Eli

I've just got a new Nokia Lumia 800 smart phone, which is the first (I think) to use the Windows 7 phone OS. It works fine on the Cloud and, being Microsoft, it has Microsoft Office Mobile with a cut-down version of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Files can be uploaded to skydrive to be accessed by home PC. (Sorry, not much help for Android users.)

Cool
