Psst ... You wanna wordle?
[ Don't even admit to not knowing what a wordle is. It's a word
cloud. A cloud of words. Like the logo that sits up there in the
top right hand corner of our screen. Go on. Take a look. See what
we mean?]
To wordle or not to wordle; that is the question. The answer should
be bleeding obvious - to wordle, of course! And this is how you do
it.
Head on over to the amazing folk at http://www.wordle.net/, then click
'Create'. Enter the text you would like to use, and click 'Go'. Now
you need a moment of patience while they stir together a wordley
concoction for you.
Fool around with the text as much as you like. Fool around with
different colours and fonts. Go crazy. Randomise. You can't break
anything. Just have fun.
Hooked? Of course you are. Then go on to the next post - Wordling
for Pros. That'll also tell you how to save your work and upload it
to the site here.

Thanks Harry, that's a fantastic find. Almost as addictive as
logging on to The Word Cloud!

SMW,
I bet you're using Internet Explorer, are you? There's a
deep-seated incompatibility between Cloudy things and IE and we've
all fallen foul of it from time to time. Try using Firefox instead
- it works for the rest of us and it's free. You can still use IE
for everything else, but in the World of the Cloud, Firefox rules.
To be fair, there are other browsers that others recommend -
Safari, for instance, but I haven't tried them.
There's more about it here: http://www.thewordcloud.org/forum/topic/1022
or if you just want to go for it, get it here: http://en-gb.www.mozilla.com/en-GB/firefox
Good Luck,
Whisks

I tried Wordle on my work computer, which has Internet Explorer as
the browser, and it worked fine. Seems totally incompatable with
Firefox on my home computer, though. Strange.

Thanks, Harry. It kind of worked for me, could only get one phrase
to work but enjoyed the experience.
