About

Humorous in nature, and moderately informative, this Group provides current* news to all members on the highlights (and lowlights) from every corner of the Word Cloud.

If you miss something that's zoomed through the Homepage feed never to be seen again, come here, where it probably won't be either.

And if you avoid a section of the Cloud because, frankly, it's of no interest to you, then material from there will be forced upon you here.

But wait. There's less. If you go on your hols, and your usual gossip informers haven't picked up the pieces, try the back-issues of news stored forever in the Topics of this Group's Forum.

AND, you can be a contributing reporter too. For absolutely no remuneration whatsoever. If you encounter newsworthy material on the Cloud, or discover that members have been shagging each other or something, bung a Newsflash on the Group Wall.

WC iPlayer - making the unreadable unavoidable.

* ...urm... yeah... used to provide current news, and might one day again in the future. But don't hold your breath.

Claire - seeing as folks virtually never look at this group any more, I'd recommend setting up your own whole new fresh group for that, perhaps posting a teaser in the blog section of the Cloud to draw attention and point people to it.

Judith - ironically, Spambot Rozzers stole the biscuits. If you go to that profile, you will find all the biscuits, cakes and goodies stockpiled there.

hey claire, i think since our host, steve, has thus far failed even to offer us newbies the promised picture of biscuits, that anyone who is prepared to post anything here should be applauded! rah rah!!!

A silly question - But if a writer was already writing mock of the week news stories for a small blog that had no renumeration either other than fun. Would she be allowed to resubmit them here to amuse the masses, or is that grande faux pas?

I nearly posted an article called 'Can I Scratch the Scribes Ass Too' - but I thought I'd best ask if it was okay first :)

To those joining this group in recent months, I can only offer a picture of biscuits to make up for the fact that after three weeks of reporting I disappeared from the Cloud for a prolonged period. I really must learn to set peoples' expectation levels of what may be forthcoming from me much lower.

Ms C Whisks has just seen the wallpost relating to her recent cardiac calamity. She is always late with everything (ask the taxman) and only today (Monday), is going through her notifications. As her trusted secretary, she asks me to thank the News Team.
    Kind regards,
    Whiskette

I actually avoided embarrassment in public, when I read it, by hiding it behind a porn mag.

Richard and Judy have asked that you also be wrapped in a brown paper bag.

Having dissed book clubs I should actually say I have just read a novel which was a Richard and Judy Book of the Month - but that's not why I read it. I've just finished The Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell and loved it. But I got it because I read an Iain Banks interview in which he said it was one of his favourites. I only realised it had been a Richard and Judy Book when I saw the sticker - honest. I did ask them to wrap it in a brown paper bag.
