About
This group is for anyone who fancies writing a comedy sketch, or even just has an idea for one. It doesn't really matter if you haven't written one before - the git who set up this group hadn't written one before last week. And it shows. If you fancy a go, just create a new topic and bung it in the forum here.
This is the illegitimate lovechild of the groups: Film Buffs Anonymous and Scripts R Us (now Scenes R Us). It was felt that a specific corner of WordCloud was required for this, so here it is, but check out the parent groups too.
The owner of this group has no idea what he is doing, and isn't that funny, so he is looking for someone who might want to take this over and make it into what it really should be. If this sounds like it'll float your boat, then send Steve a message. Please, for god's sake, do it.

by Steve 1 year agoMy absence from the Word Cloud in the past few months has meant virtually no activity in this group, and no responses from me on this wall. My return, some will say, will not change things one iota.

by La 1 year agobeing new to The Cloud wondered if you could comment on my shorter than short stories/comedy sketchy things. If you would, please go to la65.wordpress.com a small selection including Jack the Ripper...Not!, The Strange...Arse...Case of John Tourette, The Slingback Soldier. Thanks, I await your comments, good or bad

by Tony 1 year agoThe trouble is, Peter, Groups on the Cloud are pretty hopeless. You've got to remember to keep looking in on your groups to see if ther is any action, and most of us forget. I and at least one other tried Newsjack, but heard nothing either.

by Petermack 1 year agoI joined word cloud as a possible source of inspiration/meeting like minded writers in comedy sketch writing. Joining the Comedy Writing and Commedy Sketch Writing groups I felt hopeful but unfortunately there has been little input in either within the past month - what a waste!!!

by Magictorch 1 year agoI'm in exactly the same place and feel the same as Petermack - writing loads but run out of places to send and hit a brick wall.

by Petermack 1 year agoHi - just like maxxiboy I have some ideas around sketches but with nowhere to go. Tried newsjack and heard no more!
I think my stuff is good but I'm slightly biased. When I see some of the junk on TV I think - I could do better than that. But the burning question is how do you break through? Something I guess we all want to know otherwise we wouldn't be here. I've written stuff over the past few years but the problem is it either dates or the character on Eastenders get killed off. So I joined wordcloud and this group for ideas, quite selfish I agree but as I said earlier thats why we are all here. The stuff I have done is fairly mainstream - just looking for an outlet and feedback!
