About
Since I am an avid roleplayer (read: nerd), I have decided to submit a 10,000 word writing sample to Wizards of the Coast to see if they will let me write for them. BIG, IMPORTANT NOTE: This is NOT a short story. WotC don't want short stories - they want a writing sample / scenario. Therefore this does not adhere to short story rules, but is rather something that gives me a chance to show that I can write a variety of different situations that fit the DnD convention. I am also going to post a link to some DnD writing so people can see the kind of writing standard I am expected to hit. Big loves, Ely xxxx

by CJ 7 months agoWrath - I got rid of it, because it needed lots of work. At the moment, there are two versions: one is a re-worked version of the original-original piece, and the other is the a re-working of the re-write of the original piece (uh, if that makes sense...). I am struggling to choose which one to concentrate on, to be honest; the re-write is more immediate and suspenseful, but the original allows me to show more skills in terms of group interaction before the exciting stuff begins. It's a real tight-rope of trying to get things right, hence the reason for this group! This way, I can trial out lots of different versions and (hopefully) pick the best to send out. It's going to be a little while before I get the full sample up - I am re-writing it now - but I figured I can get the two beginnings up and then debate the relative merits of both. Once I figure out which beginning I am going to use, then I can concentrate on the rest of the sample.

by Wrathnar the Unreasonable 7 months agoI remember reading something you posted once before, a story based on the Spellplague theme. Is it still extant, somewhere on the Cloud?
