Come Rain Come Shine
Every so often my mum and dad record TV programmes for me and send
them out here (we don't have TV). They are pretty good at choosing
some good dramas, comedy shows as well as cartoons for the kids,
but unfortunately my dad has a tendency to switch channels during
some part or other to check the football results. We have just
finished watching a Christmas recording of David Jason's drama,
'Come Rain Come Shine' which we really enjoyed - except the last 6
minutes was missing because of the football! Did anyone see it and
remember what happened at the end? It finished just as David Jason
was lying in a coma after a heart attack at the wheel. Did he
survive? Did his son go back to his wife and child? Please let us
know...

In case you have difficulty with that, here's the last paragraph:
"Thing was, Don had a dicky heart. After collapsing at the wheel, he ended up in a coma. With Dave finally seeing the error of his ways, question was would Don be around to see his beloved family reunited. In an agonising final scene, his eyes flickered open. The nurse had put Deadliest Catch on the telly."
Aww...
MrsR can watch a film and get into it for 90 mins or more. 10 mins from the end she can ask the time and if it's late, she'll jump up and go to bed. I never, ever understand how this is possible, but it sounds like she has something in common with your Mum 8-)
Mcallan - ha ha!!!
I am happy now I know he woke up and they all got back together.
My mum and dad do try their best but have trouble when they try to record a whole series for us. We had the whole of Downham Abbey but the last episode was just a blank black screen, and episodes 6 and 7 out of 8 Spooks were missing. Hey ho! It does make me laugh though when in all the adverts, you can see my dad flicking to get the football or lingering on a documentary before he remembers to flick back - it feels like we're in his living room.
Anyway, thanks for your help, and if you didn't see Come Rain Come Shine first time round, look out for it in repeats, it was excellent.
