Courses in the Bristol area of uk?

Published by: Moonwriter on 28th Oct 2009 | View all blogs by Moonwriter

If anyone is aware of any courses that are recommended in the Bristol area, or if there are any other writers in the same area wishing to form a group please do let me know, this would be good. I am a newbie so have posted a few things in the wrong area (i think!) a couple of times, am so sorry. Thankyou for a warm welcome and have been reading a lot of threads on here and is very helpful and inspiring. If only people knew what actually went into writing a book, for many it must seem like a doddle but its actually a whole lot of work. Well done everyone thats what I say, and keep writing : )

I don't think anyone finds writing a book a 'doddle', if only. I don't know if you are interested but the Open University runs some creative writing courses, but they do cost I'm afraid. I don't know if you would find a course that doesn't. Don't worry about putting things in the wrong place. We've all been there and done it. It won't take you long to get used to it. It may take you slightly longer to get used to some of the 'nutters' on here, and I call them that with affection.

It might be worth checking with your local Adult Education College. They sometimes run writing courses or even one-off workshops. They'll still cost but often have concessionary rates.
If you're looking for a local writers' group, contact the National Association of Writers groups - www.nawg.co.uk They have a list of groups registered with them.
