Fame at last!

So, on Saturday night we went out for a big family meal in Alnwick;  son and wife (still feels odd saying that!) youngest son and his partner, bro and sis in law and Mrs Mac and I.  We called for a beer in the pub where I sing once a month with my mate.

I buys the beers and we find a table and its very christmassy, ya know! I'm halfway down my pint when over the hubub I hear music on the jukebox...It's only little old me singing!

My mate must have dropped off one of our 'Pidders Pot' cd's to the landlord and he'd put it on the jukebox, and some complete stranger had actually paid money to hear it!.,..they didn't demand a refund either.

To say I was chuffed is an understatement.  It's quite summat to hear yourself on a  jukebox.  Of course I began to harmonise along with myself, much to the embarrassment of my sons.  They said I didn't have to sing along just so folks would know it was me!..(they love me really)

I'm gonna stand by the jukebox in future and drop subtle hints about which music people should choose.

That must have been really wierd Mac - but intensely gratifying; I'm beaming for you, all over the place.
I have a friend in New Zealand who looooves folk music and I know she'd love yours; is there any interwebby place she can listen? And maybe buy?

P.S. I know there are tracks on your wall I could point her to, but unless you're signed in, walls go squiffy at times (at least they do for me - perhaps it's just me). Are you on you-tube?

It must have felt great when you came on the dukebox. I bet that made your evening. I like folk, and if I spotted Piddlers Pot in a dukebox, I'd definitely put it in the queue to listen to.

They'll be hounding you for autograph next, Mac... :]

A happy moment, well impressed. But really old pal - they call them things daughter's in law. You'll just get used to that and you might have to start thinking of yourself as a Grandad.

Nice one, Mac! Not quite the same, but I went to visit some friends up in Yorkshire at the weekend. They run a riding school, and my mate's rigged up a sound system so that when he's working on the yard he can listen to his music loud and clear. Stepped into the yard on Saturday and thought his blaring tunes sounded familiar, then realised that it was my music that I'd put on a disc for him yonks ago - and the yard girls were grooving along to it! I"d forgotten he had it, came as quite a surprise since I thought its only public airing was on my profile here. Not as cool as someone choosing it on a jukebox, though. Lovely moment.

Yay, excellent! If one person's chosen it then there's a good chance another will too. I think you need to copy that cd and hand it around the other bars :) Lovely story.

Cheers folks. Whisks, I'll have a go at putting some on YouTube with pics....can't be that hard...can it?
Minxie...we were signing autographs when we had a gig in Holland....was sooooo embarrassing!
I knew there was a proper name for wot she is Alan...I'll try harder!
That will still have been pretty cool GD...always nice to hear your own stuff played.
Gels...ta..:)..somehow I don't think the other bars in Alnwick would appreciate it!
It was pretty awesome Kat..:)....I'll be insufferable in there now!

It's a great CD, Mac, as you know I know; well worth sixpence in the Jukebox - or is it a shilling, now?

It's a bit like loos in town centres. It used to be spend a penny, now you can't do one at any price.

Is this CD purchasable? Can't see it with a bit of effort. Perhaps it needs a lot of effort.

Awww- how exciting for you...and how many times did you put it on the juke box after that. ey?! ha ha - if it was me singing I'd be putting it on repeat. Sadly I can't sing so that'll never happen- I am very envious of those who can hold a tune.

Nah, I've looked too and can't find it for sale either, Alan. Pity. Just the thing for Christmas and/or New Year's Bash.
Maccaroon - here you have a paying audience, eager for a squirt of Piddler's Pot and we can't find a pot, er, between us. Are you missing a trick here? Shot? Foot? The? In? Yourself?
Get a move on sonny jim. Your public awaits.

What a brilliant thing to happen Mac and a lovely surprise for you.
Did you hug whoever put it on? Did they hug you?

Maybe you can do a CD of readings when a Mac-book gets published.
In the meantime, bask in the fulsome glory and be careful out there, I think you're developing a committed fan base.

You people...what are you like!!...pretty fab actually.
We only did a run of 500 CD's way back in 2002...or thereabouts. I think I have one left and there may be one or two others knocking about. We tended to sell them to cover our costs then give the rest to charity. If anyone really wants one I can burn off a copy and post it. Just give a donation to a charity of your choice..:)

I seriously doubt it Spangles! I was in the pub last night and someone else put it on the juke box...and I didn't have to pay 'em!
