Good News. Young People Fight Back

Published by: Amarantha on 10th Aug 2011 | View all blogs by Amarantha
It was wonderful to see on BBC Breakfast this morning a large group of young people gathering with their brooms to help clean up the mess left by the mob on their city streets.   They have set a hare of their own running on the Network; a call of a very different kind has gone out and it's a great opportunity for Britain's young folk to show they will not allow morons to blacken their  name in the world.

The schools are on holiday so come on, all you students, get out there and demonstrate for decency.   With the Olympics coming next summer, the world needs to be shown that London, Britain is not the jungle portrayed in newsflashes going global right now.   Only you can make a real difference to the future of Britain and it's your future so don't let the bad apples take over your communities.

This is wonderful news, I'm so glad to see that some people are making a possative effort to show that not all young people are mindless. This makes such a refreshing change from all the excuses I've been reading :)

Hurray for those people, I just hope the rioters watching are capable of feeling shame.

Yes, we need more of this and I'm sure it's growing. I was moved to post it because apart from the one mention this morning, the entire coverage on the BBC News channel was clips of the rioting and point-scoring comments by politicians.

The Goodies and the victims deserve much more publicity than they're getting.
