National Short Story Week

Undoubtedly, short stories are becoming more popular; not only writing them but reading them too. Publishers seem to be more accomodating to short story submissions and more willing to produce similar genre short story volumes. This is great news. For those of you that love to write short stories, National Short Story Week could be your saviour. There will be information made available on magazine submission requirements / tips on writing and selling and how to develop commercial and creative opportunities.

National Short Story Week takes place on 22-28 November 2010.

Lets all get involved, and see how many success stories (excuse the pun) we can report on the cloud.

Good luck to everyone

Maybe there would be enough short stories from the cloud for a whole volume!

Karen, you must be psychic!! I was going to talk to Harry on Saturday about putting together a cloud Anthology, seriously. I think that it would be a great success (even if it just sells to our friends and families) It could either be an ebook or paperback. Whichever way, it's really easy to set up ebooks and there is instructions in this month Writing Magazine.

Kiki, Along with Steve (Paris) I was planning to beard Harry with a similar thought, although I have hopes of a more general commercial outcome. I was pretty impressed with the success of a collection of unpublished letters from the Daily Telegraph and I do wonder if we couldn't do something similar. Anyway, that was where I was planning to pitch from, if I'm brave enough.

A week dedicated to short stories. That's a lot of short stories! Mind you, I'm keen. It's been a while since I penned anything fictional, so it would be good to 'avva go.
