Stepping Forward

It has been a long long time since I wrote something here because I had nothing appropriate in the meanwhile to share. Now I do,  so I am here :)
June 2012 is the month when I will finish my A-Levels, but the admission procedure for universities has already started for universities that are outside my country. The UK is one of those places where I will be applying.
Considering the budget that I could afford (that includes tuition fees, accommodation and living expenses) my college counsellor recommended me the following universities:
University of Nottingham, York University, University of Bristol, Southampton University, Kent University, Durham University and Bath University.
My research aside, if I am supposed to choose 5 of these universities, which 5 would you choose and why?
Looking forward to your response :)

My dad went to Durham. This was back in the late 60s but I know he really enjoyed both the uni and the town and I think it still has a good reputation. But many international students need to use London as a hub for one thing or another and Durham is about as far from London as you can get in England. Good luck anyway.

Hi Has'san, nice to hear from you again. I'm rather out of touch with universities these days, but for those that may be able to give you advice, it would help them if you say what subjects you plan to study. Some unis have better reputations than others for certain degrees. (Btw, if you chose York, you'd be right there if Writers' Workshop continues to use it for their Spring Festival of Writing!)

Thank you for finding some to reply Sisyphusa and Tony (glad to be back :) )
S: I get your point, and thanks for letting me know.
T: I forgot to mention, thanks for reminding me, I planning on doing my undergraduates in Economics, Economics with any other subject would be fine as well. And oh ok, that would be great.
