Stories for Homes 2 - update

Published by: Debi on 12th Sep 2017 | View all blogs by Debi

We have a launch date for the e-book anthology for SfH2: 28 September. The paperback will be launched in November. We can then start raising serious money for Shelter. SfH1 raised over £3000 and we're hoping to double that this time.

Please check out the website. There are tabs for the online anthology (free stories on the theme of home), real life stories, stories from the frontline (a series of articles by a professional who works with homeless people) and a news page, which will be regularly updated. https://storiesforhomes.wordpress.com/

There are many Cloudies among the authors and other supporters of the project and everyone can get involved by joining our Thunderclap if you're on FB, Twitter and/or Tumblr. If you join up, you're giving Thunderclap permission to send one tweet or post from your account on 28 Sept - e-book launch date - giving us the best chance to get the hashtag #SfH2 trending. It only takes a minute to sign up and is completely legit and safe to do. Please do join us and help us to make a difference.

Thanks!

Yay! This is fantastic. I'm sorry I've rather let my blogging about Stories for Homes slip on here, Debi... my bad. But, please everyone, click onto Thunderclap to support this wonderful project. For homes and literature!!!

Exciting discussions happening round the cover. Sally (my co-editor) has created a piece of unique artwork, which we plan to auction off later to raise more money for Shelter.

Meanwhile, we have 73 people supporting the Thunderclap. We need 100 for it to happen. Please, please, pretty please sign up to it. As I said before, all you are doing by signing up is giving Thunderclap permission to send one tweet or post from your Twitter and/or FB account on 28 Sept. Please spread the word to family and friends too. Let's make this anthology huge and raise some serious money for Shelter.

We've reached the magic figure of 100, thanks to people like all of you, which means that the Thunderclap will take place. Let's not stop now. The more people who sign up, the greater our reach, and the greater the chance we'll get the hashtag trending. Thank you, thank you, thank you. x

We have 116 people signed up to our Thunderclap. E-book launch date 28 Sept. And we have a stunning cover, designed for us by Head and Heart books. ! The picture is from an original artwork by my fellow editor, Sally Swingewood, created specially for SfH2. We're planning to auction it to raise even more money for Shelter. Big thanks to those of you who have supported us.

Have just gone to Thunderclap and signed up for Facebook and Twitter. Must say it seemed a bit daunting. Hope I'm more secure than the American electoral system. Don't really want to contribute to Putin's nest egg.

Ha! Never fear, Gerry. All it means is that Thunderclap will auto-generate a single tweet and FB post from your a/c on 28 Sept. No Putins or nest eggs will benefit.

And you can always remove the app from your social media accounts immediately after the thunderclap if you're concerned and it will have no more access

Stories for Homes 2 is out now on Amazon for Kindle!! How exciting. So proud and happy to be part of this wonderful, creative venture!

Tomorrow (aka Thursday), it's gonna be going viral (we sincerely hope!) so please do look up Stories for Homes on Twitter, Facebook and shout about it on all social media, and just generally - in offices, to friends, whenever.

Downloading as I write (hopefully, since I've left my Kindle upstairs and I'm too lazy to check). Lucky enough to get my hands on a copy during the proofreading stage and it really is amazing! Imaginative stories, powerful reading and for such a worthy cause.
Take a tip from me, though, and have tissues handy.
