I was told off in Jeruslaem for not wearing head cover when I
wanted to look at the wall. And there's one district where only
orthodox jews live - a whole community that actually 'scared' me
when I walked through it.
BTW (if my recollection is correct, and sincere apologies if not),
the security of the most holy of Christian churches is entrusted to
a Islamic gatekeeper who hold the key to the churh doors. I met
him. Nice guy. he told me the key has been in his family's hands
since it was built in early times. Seems like early Christians
didn't trust any other Christians...
