I was asked to write a piece for the RNA mag, about writing between genres, and I've just discovered it's their current Featured Article on the website, which is flattering. Link here.

Good article Emma. That's something that worries me about my novel. It's a family saga, no wait ...it's women's fiction ... or is that general fiction, oh I give up!

Weens - glad you approve. Family saga is a well-known sub-set of that gloriously broad church, Women's Fic, so I wouldn't get too worried.

Thanks Robin. I'm doing a workshop for the RNA Conference in July, so it was a good opportunity to clarify my own thinking a bit!

You raise a lot of issues in a short space, Emma. A lovely article.

Thanks, John. I was only given 300 words, so it was tough to get in everything I wanted to say, but an interesting challenge.

Nice article Emma, and congratulations on having it featured.

It's very positive, and also comforting to read that anything is possible if it's done well!

I am trying to write a black comedy, which involves a lot of serious emotion/complicated relationships/addictions and illnesses! I hope that because of the characters I'm using, it's working!
