Lots of word cloud members know I have had a few ups and downs recently, but I have had a really positive up this afternoon.

My first book was self published at the turn of the year, but I have had to wait until now for the publication of a review by a women's history magazine - rather than just my local paper. The magazine is Herstoria - and their reviewer liked it!

I am so pleased I wanted to share this with the cloud - and know that it will be quite reassuring for others considering self publishing as a route to know that you can still get your work reviewed by the appropriate publications.

So raise your glasses, or mugs of tea, and celebrate with me tonight.

That's great news. I've just finished a bottle of wine (not by myself!), but am about to make a bedtime cuppa, so will raise that.
Hope Dorset was duly inspiring as well as relaxing, by the way.

Mine's red wine tonight, and am drinking to your success... Great news - You must be over the moon. It is such an achievement to me just to finish something, so to do that and get published and good review must feel wonderful.... As well as a nudge to us all to go for it.

Splendis news, MB and glad to hear you had a good time in Dorset (which Marion's never heard of - well I'd never heard of Mosell Bay either, so there!) I hope the good review results in lots of sales and then more reviews. Congratulations and welcome back.

so yes, i missed all the excitement. i'm impressed that there is a magazine that recognises women's contribution to history. also well done for the review. i am through to the third round of the brit awards and i'm waiting for word on monday if i've made it through to the finals with both my fiction and non-fiction. anyway - hope you're well. all the best, chris
