Two Left Shoes

Gosh, this is all a bit bewildering.

After about an hour, I managed to get my synopsis up for feedback. Why it wouldn't just copy and paste I'll never know. It doesn't like apostrophes. It seems it chops the rest of the sentence off after an apostrophe, and let's not mention the layout. Alright let's mention the layout. Why it changes the layout is beyond me. Ho hum, I suppose I'll get the hang of it. Talking of getting the hang of it, I can't for the life of me, work out how to join in the conversations. I've managed to join a couple of groups (one gold star). It's not that I'm thick, it's just that ..... well, I suppose I'm thick!!!!

After I get feedback on my summary, I will be ready to send off my first novel. Just a couple of questions to answer. If anyone reads this, can they tell me
a) why it is preferable to approach agents as v publishers, and what about publishers who say they are looking for new novelists?
b) Do I mention that I wrote my book whilst suffering from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME. Would that be a selling point (triumph over adversity maybe) or is that wishful thinking.

I think I've done everything arse upwards. I didn't find any sites like this until after I finished my book and now I've found out that I have done so many things wrong. Well maybe I'll be lucky and find an agent who really likes my story. I've had this book in my head for nigh on thirty years and this has been the first opportunity for me to get it on paper. I did do a good four months research before I started, so I did something right (another gold star?).

Well. here's hoping.

If you know you have 'done things wrong' wouldn't you change those before you submitted it to any agents or publishers? Or have I misunderstood that comment?

To join the conversation, just go to the profile page of the person you want to speak to and enter something onto their wall (lower right hand side of the page). Or you can post it on your own wall. All wall posts are displayed on the main page.

Layout, chopping bits off, random acts of font changing - the Cloud is a mystery to us all.

I meant that I had a lot of work to do to correct some of the things I discovered were wrong. It was too late to sit down and plan the book, but I managed to amend some of the things. Sorry if that was not clear
