Welcome Messages

Published by: 7thSon on 6th Feb 2010 | View all blogs by 7thSon
Just about finished with my adventures around 'Word Cloud', still got a few notes to write-up and then I think I may be about ready to give some writing ago.

I have had some encouraging welcome messages from lots of interesting members and I look forward to getting to know everybody a bit better, once I have found my feet.

I'm still a bit uncertain as to the 'Group' scene, what I was hoping to do was enjoy reading a cross section of writings and perhaps experiment a bit with my own. Then try and get and give some feedback. Any suggestions on the best place to start off  would be greatly appreciated.

keep smiling...

All you need to do is to click on the Forum tab in the menu at the top of this page, and then select 'Critiques', which is the first topic to appear in the list of topics in the Forum. That's where everyone posts the work that they want other people to take a look at.

It's helpful to read the first three topics, which were posted by the moderators and set out a few guidelines about reviewing others' work and about submitting your own (preferably in smallish, digestible chunks that are inviting to read, rather than thousands and thousands of words that will obviously take ages to go through).

    I hope you have fun!

Hi, 7thSon, That is good advice from Spangles. There are some enjoyable reads on there. I have taken the plunge fairly recently and posted a few things. The quality of feedback I received was very high and always enormously helpful. So I would encourage you to give it a go!

Critiques is definitely the way to go. Although one or two of the groups are active, the majority are inactive, so the best place to communicate is the walls or to message someone, and the best place to read and post work is Critiques. Also on the main page, half way down on the right hand side, you will abe able to see the latest blogs. If you write a blog, which you can do from your home page, and want others to see it, make sure that you mark it public and not private. Don't be afraid to ask for help again, we all had to find our way around, so know what it is like to be new. Hope that helps.

Hi 7thSon, I don't think the style of the forum really encourages the use of groups, as the posts don't show on the main page. Hope you enjoy it here.
