Chapter 2- Games

By LoveLiveLearn
This is the first time I've released this chapter so please read it and comment. It would mean so much! Thank you! :) <3

Tyler  scanned  the  ground  as  he  hovered,  the tips  of  his  wings  brushing  off  the  roof  of  the  cave,  a  regular,  almost hypnotic rhythm.  He  squinted  at  the  tightly  bunched  small stone houses forty  feet  below  him  and  caught  a  glimpse  of  a  shadow  cropping  up  between  two  of  the  houses  “Gotcha!”  he  thought  triumphantly and  prepared  himself  to  swoop  down.  Then  out  of  the  corner  of  his  eye  he  saw  a  flash  of  light  and  as  he  turned  towards  it  he  realised  what  it  was. He  flapped  frantically  out  of  the  way  as  a  huge  ball  of  fire  flew  past  him  and  crashed  into  the  cave  roof.  He  shielded  himself  with  his  arms  as  he  was  hit  with  falling  rouble  and  covered  in  dust.
As  he  descended  the  sound  of  hysteric  laughter  filled  his  ears.  “Right”  he  said,  rubbing  the  dust  out  of  his  eyes.  “You  two  are  so  dead!”  he  ran  at  the  two  men  that  were  approaching  him,  they  were  holding  each  other  up  as  they  continued  to  laugh.  They  scattered  as  they  saw  Tyler  running  at  them,  going  in  opposite  directions  to  try  and  confuse  him  so  Tyler  decided  to  go  left  after  the  smaller  one.  He  was  incredibly  fast  and  light  on  his  feet,  almost  like  the  deer  that  roamed  outside  the  cave.  But  Tyler  was  one  step  ahead  of  him. He saw him start to swerve right between two houses so he lept and swooped over the house and intersected him from the other side. He landed in front of him and charged towards him. Tyler caught him around the waist and brought him to the ground. The man tried to to take a swing at him but he effortlessly dodged it and pinned him to the ground. He strugled for a minute but then suddenly went still and his face blank. Tyler sighed in experation. he shook him, trying to break his concentration but it was too late. Tyler blinked and with a poof of air he was sitting on the ground and the man was gone.
"CJ!" he shouted, knowing he could hear him. "Come out right now or I will find you and take the head off whatever you are hiding in!". He waited for a few a seconds and then put his nose to the ground and started shuffling through the dirt. He was about to give up but then he spotted it. A tiny beetle making it's way through the sand. He slowly crawled towards it and carefully cupped his hand over it, stopping it's escape.
" CJ I have you caught. You either come out now or my hand goes down and you can say goodbye to mr.beetle. I'll give you ten seconds. Ten..nine..eight" he uncovered the beetle and sat back.
"Three.. two.." Suddenly he felt the same gust of wind and a tap on his shoulder. He turned and there was CJ, looking a bit out of breath but  also  really  annoyed.
"Welcome back" Tyler smiled up at him.
"That wasn't funny, never, ever theaten them like that" He was really annoyed.
"Hey I'm sorry, you now i wouldn't do that! I was only joking!"
"Well that doesn't make it right! I might not have made it out!"
Tyler was taken back. C.J's power allowed him to share the body of any living thing so long as he's a certain distance from it. He doesn't take over the body he just sets his mind and concisness in it. He can't influence the animal and the animal doesn't know he's there but he can leave the body and reappear outside it again when ever he wants. This abilty is called soul-sharing. No one knows where his body goes or how it works. "But that's the beauty of what we are. Nobody tries to explain us, it's just the way it  is." Tyler thought, not for the first time.
He gave in, not liking how seriousness of the situation. "Ok, I'm sorry. I didn't mean for that to happen, I was just having fun."
C.J pretended to think about it. "Alright then, but next time you are dead!" The serious air immedently disapeared and it was like it never happened. But then Tyler remembered something.
"Wait where's Blane?" Just as he siad it a huge weight landed on him and he was knocked to the ground.
"Ha, I win!" Blane's triumphent voice sounded above him as he struggled to get free.
"And I didn't even need to use my powers unlike the rest of you!"
"Ya, you just use your colossal weight to flatten your oppenents!" Tyler recieved a good punch on his arm for that comment and he was still being crushed with his wings pinned under him so he couldn't really do anything about it.
Blane was Tyler's other close friend and another one with different powers. Blane was one of the most powerful warriors for his age and it was easy to see why. He could conjour fire with his mind and he was unbeaten with his blades. That, mixed with his pitch black hair and peircing blood red eyes made him a formidable opponient. He was an orphan who lived with an old warrior on the outskirts of the village but even through a tough upbringing, he still maintained his since of humor but Tyler was finding it hard to remember that.
"Blane would you mind getting off me? You're crushing my wings, not to mention the rest of me!" He squirmed under Blane's weight but he wouldn't move.
"Just take it easy birdy, I'm just having a rest!" Tyler sighed in annoyance and waited.
Suddenly, they all froze froze as the bellowing sound of a huge bell rang the air. Without a word, Blane got up and they started running towards the centre of the village.
