There comes a time for every man to sit back and reflect
On this and that, and sealing wax, and what commands respect.
At 65 that time has come – it doesn’t take a miracle –
To guess, inspired by Minxie’s verse, I’d soon be waxing lyrical.
If anything I’ve fathomed over six decades and a half
It’s not to be too serious, be sure to have a laugh.
Here’s hoping when you, too, retire at (what is it?) 68?

but I can't contain myself.  It's finally happened. The dim old bat I've worked with or carried I should say, for the last eleven years, is retiring within the next three months.

I can't believe it's finally happening.

I'm raising a glass just now.  We've all been jumping for joy since she told us, but trying to do it discreetly so she doesn't see.
