The Word Cloud

I'm just checking in quickly to say a huge thank you to all the lovely people who have congratulated me on winning the Earlyworks Press Fiction for Children or Teens competition. 

What I find so marvellous about The Cloud is that we are all such different characters, with different views on everything from God downwards (or upwards? No, don't let's start...) But we have this thing in common that we are writers. And that means we all have the same fear - the self-doubt that makes us wonder if our writing is ever going to be "good enough" - at whatever level we're aiming for. Good enough to post a blog here, good enough to send to WW, good enough to get an agent and the rest.

And that's why your messages are so important to me - I know that everyone here understands exactly how I feel about my writing being recognised in this way. It may not be a huge competition but the comments I have had back from the judges are incredibly motivating - it‘s a fantastic feeling.

I don't know how things will go from here - there is a choice of prize of either a small press publishing deal or a cash prize and editorial help and input. I need to do some thinking and gather some advice.
