Welcome back, Mat. Much water has passed under the bridge since you so abruptly deserted us. But, as a drainage and irrigation specialist, you would know as much.

I think they have a place in a certain style of comic writing but should be looked at carefully (oops!) to make sure each one earns its keep.

Jill Yes, happened to see SM's post on front page last evening. He was upset at OFP's leaving Cloud and decided to go himself and delete the AC group...

Noodledoodle He didn't leave. Prop's profile was deactivated by the WC following a series of complaints.

Squidge Not taking sides - but after what appeared on the wall recently, I can't say I'm surprised. Don't like that it came to that, because others were involved too. But for Stevie to go - and delete the group - seems odd. Or do groups you created automatically disappear when the member who set up the group goes too?

Mashie Niblick Maybe SM didn't want the vitriol 'on many sides' (as Trump would say) spoiling his group, which until then had been a gentle place. Prop is one of the best and most original writers I've read here. He has a way with words, for sure, but the Cloud just got less interesting.

Noodledoodle Indeed, Mashers, the Cloud will be a duller place without Prop and Stovers. They'll be missed by many.

Ingest If OFP was banned by wordcloud, then there's interesting difference between BP's clearly banned profile http://writing-community.writersworkshop.co.uk/members/profile/11012 and OFP's deleted profile http://writing-community.writersworkshop.co.uk/members/profile/13829

AlanP I'm with Mashie. Things got well out of hand and attempts to defuse it were like shouting at the rain. But it takes more than one to escalate a fight to the extent it reached and it's all very regrettable. I wonder if a yellow card before the red might have calmed things down. As to SM. He's been teetering for a while. Another loss. I can't imagine a winter without Jannings, Dicksworth and Angela the zeppelin race. Utterly original stuff.

SecretSpi Who can say whether Prop jumped or whether he was pushed? is there a parallel with Rommel or is my imagination getting the better of me ;) I'm gutted that StevieM felt he had to go, and take Anarchy Corner with him - it's a pile of poop that it had to come to this.

AlanP Care needs to be taken to not allow things to escalate that far again. No-one wins although some lose more than others. If and when they both return, as I personally hope they do, then as a group, it should be welcomed. But for now, we are where we are and I should like to see us move to a better place.
