If you write in more than one area, what is your next most favoured genre?NoneAre your reading habits ...?OmnivorousWho is your favourite author(s)?Graham GreeneAnd your all time favourite books? (You can change these at any time, by the way ...)Lord of the Rings Eagle in the snow Flashman Sharpe Ministry of Fear The long ships Suetonius: the lives of the twelve CaesarsWhat are your working habits when you write?ProcastinatoryAre you the edit-every-sentence-ten-times type, or do you prefer to let rip?Prefer to let rip and edit afterwardsYour ultimate writing ambition?Get my six books publishedYour worst habit?Getting discouraged by rejectionYour opinion on the books industry? It is a tough game, but everyone does their bestWhere do you write?HomeWhat else do you want Word Clouders to know? eg: do you have 9 cats / like paragliding / eat nothing but tinned fish / work in the bath / live in Kettering?I like good red Burgundy, fillet steak and publishers but probably could not eat a whole one of the latter. I hate politicians and NHS managers and medics who use jargon to preserve the mystique of medicine for their own self-aggrandisement.

About
I'm 58. I have four kids, the youngest is11 - she's a sweetie. My wife is a psychologist but happily doesn't analyse me too much!
Unpublished, but trying hard. I've written two trilogies and the first book of a third. All are Roman adventure mass-market fiction. The first is with an agent who is a really good guy and is trying hard.
I do running, trekking, writing and find time in between to work as a full time surgeon in the NHS.

by Caducean Whisks 1 year agoWell done, you too! That Great North Run - it's from London to Manchester, no? To do that in two hours is a stonking achievement. If you could pull a train too, you'd be worth your weight in gold.

by Bren 1 year agoAvatar? Is that someone who stands in for you in surgery while you write? Nice to hear from you again Fred. Not so good to ask how I am - I have transverse ligament trouble Axial joint, but the you know that - never feel too good though I try hard, was told in Feb at UCL they don't want to operate. Well bully for them but they should try living with it. A lovely young, Australian surgeon said I had been massively underdiagnosed at the time of the accident. Awaiting an upright MRI with head forward and back, won't hold my breath as they were asked to expedite it and I have been waiting 4 months. Well you did ask. :) trouble is life is wonderful and needs to be lived and I can't take a fair crack at it.
Have you done any more writing? Considered self publishing? Trouble is then you have to market it. -
by faraway 2 years agoI'm going great guns ... without any guns of course. I've thought up a great surprise for the end of the book. Yeah!
No epic launch? Disgusting.
