  Were you in Edinburgh for the Fringe, or is that a silly question? It might not be, since you're a writer. Last year I completely avoided everything festival-related and just doggedly went on scribbling away at notes in assorted corners throughout the city until it was over and I stepped out into the pamphlet-littered aftermath of all the good stuff I'd missed. Don't worry - I corrected that this year. What did you see and do?

  Yup. Well I grew up in Wicklow, but I lived in Dublin for about ten years and still work there. Did you see Cornelia Funke has a new book out? Is she any good?

  You have excellent taste in music. Liking the Maroon 5 and you cant go wrong with Livin' on a prayer. Haven't heard the other one before, but sounding good.
