So this is blogging?

This is the first time I've set out with the intention to blog. I've created journals over on deviantart (www.autumn-hills.deviantart.com)...
Clearly, I have too much time on my hands.

Ok. So, who am I? Well obviously that's a rhetorical question, as I am neither an amnesiac nor someone in the throes of some strange, existential identity crisis.

I'm (at the time of writing) nineteen years old. I am a lover of words, and although I don't always call them back, I try to treat them courteously. One warning, however: occasionally I misuse and abuse grammar for my own enjoyment. Frankly, I think grammar likes it.

I live in Norfolk, which is a county of England much maligned for alleged inbreeding and carrot munching. It’s very flat, and some of it used to be underwater, specifically the town where I live, which has a rubbish reputation that is mainly undeserved.

I am (at the time of writing) finishing a third year of sixth form, which is relaxing and entertaining. Next year I’m off to the University of Northampton, where I will be studying Creative Writing.

Put simply, my only ambition is to write fantasy for young adults (like me) at least well enough to carry on doing it without getting cold or hungry. I’m chasing the dream of becoming a published author.

I have, however, no ambition or desire to write great literature, because most great literature leaves me in a state of meh.

In this blog I’ll be letting the few who care know about recent developments in my various narrative universes. On top of that I will mention stuff that happens in my day to day life, so there will be an interesting balance of imbalanced perspective and realistic fantasy.
