Severed Fingers
I draw my inspiration from the cry of a wolf, I draw my desperation
from the cry of a coin. I recall bitter sweet tears on rooftops,
the night before I fled. Like a cast shadow, I wandered these city
streets. Like a ship into harbour, I followed the stars home.
Drawing a line around my silhouette, you called out my name. Turn
your head to the side, eyes down, find another to blame. Like young
fingers in the mills, there is no union here. Nothing left to
waste, keep me in place, you should have never wasted your time.
Pull a moment from me, just one moment, young fingers break, young
fingers sever. Smile for me, and pull just one emotion from me,
there's everything to feel. I recall bitter sweet tears on
rooftops, the night before I fled. Between trees and concrete, I
say goodbye to severed fingers, light a lantern for me. With a
strong sense of intellect, I recall a season of red and amber, I
recall growing to be alone. With a strong sense of dialect, I
recall a season of white and blue, I recall a liking to the
emotions I sold. A synthetic emotion cradled my mindset, a chemical
indulgence triggered a paradise Shift and we float, we float
through an assurance. I recall bitter sweet tears on rooftops, the
night before I fled.
