Are you now home to toad or mouse? Are you their new up-market house? Your paint now peeled, your timbers rotting, do you spend your time just plotting how to get back to the sea, to be...to be...to be free?

Really liked this, John, especially about the 'looking down smugly'. Reminds me of the Two Ronnies and John Cleese sketch. Do you remember that one? You have had some amazing experiences. Looking forward to the next one.

Hi Gerry, My 94 year old dad got targeted all the time. He was still fairly on the ball but these dreadful people know they are vulnerable. Always phoning about broken computers (he didn't have one and was perplexed). He eventually sold his car for ...

Not quite the same thing but Chris just got an agitated phone call from her aged mum - Betty - who was worried about a scam call she'd just had. The scammer only got so far as telling Betty that a relative had been injured in an accident. Betty said ...

Sorry, Joyful, again, what a terrible story. There seem to be so many travesties of justice, that you wonder what is really going on.

Hi Jaxx and Joyful. Jaxx, I think you've 'hit the nail on the head' as they say. Unfortunately, when people react in a negative way and it isn't challenged, then it gives a 'cart-blanche' to those who see that. Just look at Brexit and how the ...

Nothing to add except the wastefullness of these acts. Horrified we watched a doc on TV whereby a motorcyclist revved up for fun outside school, ran over and killed a 12 year old but got away with it. (How?) The father traced his address, went round ...

As a goth myself, I do find this kind of thing both expected and sad. I have not personally been the victim of attack, not being on the attractive end of the spectrum, but I cross the road if I think I might be at risk. The clothing isn't designed ...

I agree with Prop. There can be violence on every side. We kind of know who not to stare at, for fear of such a response. They know that too. I hope you have a plethora of turned heads with your Number 4. It sounds divine, with a little hint of ...

My dad published with AuthorHouse. We had a stack of hundreds of typed paper sheets, which I dutifully got into Word. I did the front cover to his book and they still charged the same but we (my dad especially) liked the book. This is a vanity ...

Hi Richard and Prop again. It's a scary indictment of our current society that we all have such tales to tell. Is it just ignorance? Upbringing? Is it some primal fear forcing some to try to blend in, thankful that the blows and abuse will be ...

What an awful story, Prop. That poor man and his daughter. I'm a bit Old Testament myself. Sometimes (only sometimes) I do believe a bit of 'back at you ten-fold' might deter the nasty little gits but I don't know anymore. We're supposed to be ...
