Information
  • Are you a ...?
    Writer published in mags, etc
What genre do you primarily write in?
    Fantasy
If you write in more than one area, what is your next most favoured genre?
    Historical fiction
    Are your reading habits ...?
    Omnivorous
    Who is your favourite author(s)?
Ask me that in the past tense on the day I die :-)
And your all time favourite books? (You can change these at any time, by the way ...)
I have yet to grow tired of reading.
What are your working habits when you write?
    Procastinatory
Are you the edit-every-sentence-ten-times type, or do you prefer to let rip?
Prefer to let rip and edit afterwards
    Your ultimate writing ambition?
I'm working on a story that has no ending; one I shall be proud to own if I live long enough to finish it.
    Your worst habit?
My worst habit is to set a view of the future beside the wisdom of the Ancients and find the future wanting.
Your opinion on the books industry?
Too much celebrity and hype, but good books still get through
    Where do you write?
    At home - where else?
What else do you want Word Clouders to know? eg: do you have 9 cats / like paragliding / eat nothing but tinned fish / work in the bath / live in Kettering?
Due to an unfortunate misunderstanding between me and a blind dog in babyhood I do not trust dogs. They sense my antipathy to their kind and regard me as an enemy. Cats and horses are my best friends.

Ditto, jkd, very nice :-) No red sun where I am but noticing it was darkening at two-thirty in the afternoon, I looked West to the thickest, blackest, most threatening pile of storm-clouds I have ever seen in my life! There was no wind at ground ...

"Clytemnestra" commented on Yo's Blog "Have any Wordies written a 300k+ word novel?".
No, but I wrote the first two books of a trilogy numbering around 150,000 words each before having to set aside my ambitions. Richard B's idea of a 'book' of fewer than 80,000 words would have been counted a novella (a long short story) in my day ...

I don't have the app and cannot rotate the image Snowflake. I recognize the beauty you see in this image but as a reader, I need you to explain the fractal.

Clytemnestra Is wondering where went Old Fat Prop and Steven Mark? Did they jump or were they pushed?

Gerry, may say that I understand you? The three Bardos Dolly refers to are tenets of Buddhism which is not a religion but a philosophy.

Really?! Oh I'm so pleased that by simply loving your photo of the stained glass butterfly I've revived a very special memory. Before I go off to read your poem may I say I agree with your sentiments wholeheartedly? We must never forget.

Love your new photo, Jill. Like you and Amarantha, I see the butterfly's metamorphosis as a symbol of transmission from one life to another and would love to read your poem written at a time of deep, intranational grief. xx

"Clytemnestra" commented on Dolly's Blog "Oblivion".
Oblivion is simply a lack of awareness. We may be oblivious while vibrantly alive so why should the opposite be impossible? I'm looking forward to an awfully big adventure when I die. Free of physical limitations, I may get to see what's going ...
