Does anyone know of a website I can ask my weird writing questions on and not get judged for it/have my parents/teachers be concerned? But still get a semi-correct answer? Example: How many stab wounds does it take to kill a person? How far can you fall
Information
  • Are you a ...?
    Unpublished writer (so far)
What genre do you primarily write in?
    Fantasy
If you write in more than one area, what is your next most favoured genre?
    Fantasy
    Are your reading habits ...?
    Sophisticated
    Who is your favourite author(s)?
JK Rowling, John Green, Sarah J. Maas, Rick Riordan, Gail Carriger
And your all time favourite books? (You can change these at any time, by the way ...)
Harry Potter, Paper towns, Etiquette and Espionage, The Map to Everywhere, A Court of Thorns and Roses, basically anything fiction with magic and BLOOD!
What are your working habits when you write?
    Procastinatory
Are you the edit-every-sentence-ten-times type, or do you prefer to let rip?
    Ten times? Why so little?
    Your ultimate writing ambition?
In honesty, I'd be crying tears of joy if I ever actually managed to publish it. I suppose my main goal would be to have kids at schools saying "you have to read this!" to their friends. That's a good feeling.
    Your worst habit?
SELF-DOUBT! Even if 20 people tell me they love my story, I still feel like I have to edit it 200 times. (Which I have)
Your opinion on the books industry?
It is a tough game, but everyone does their best
    Where do you write?
    On my bed with PJs.
What else do you want Word Clouders to know? eg: do you have 9 cats / like paragliding / eat nothing but tinned fish / work in the bath / live in Kettering?
I am in high school but feel like I can make it if I try hard enough. I love to read and I read the Harry Potter series in 2nd grade. I'm also a huge theater nerd. I love me some musicals!

ThatOneNerd Does anyone know of a website I can ask my weird writing questions on and not get judged for it/have my parents/teachers be concerned? But still get a semi-correct answer? Example: How many stab wounds does it take to kill a person? How far can you fall before you die? Injuries caused by a large rock hitting skull? I use a school computer for my writing, so the administration gets updates on my search history, but I still need to know answers. Any tips?

Giselle And now you know why writers systématically eerase their search history. ;-) You can ask here, there are probably some crime writers and/or people with police contacts that may help.

TinyButMighty Hello everyone! I need short, childish insults for an argument between an eight-year-old girl and a thousand-year-old elf. Ex: "Poopy-head", "Needle ears", etc. Thank you!

Nibs just been looking online for children insults. Some are really funny, but i think a bit old and modern for what you're looking for. sample (Parent to child for bad language: I'm gonna wash your mouth out with soap. Child returns: and I'm gonna wash your mouth out with my nuts..!!!!!! Mmm!, not much to say to that..

Oh yes. I remember writing a story for an exam when I must have been ... 13? About a boy whose best friend had just fallen out of tree and died, and the boy was still sitting up in the tree wondering what to do now... I think young children have a ...

I vaguely remember writing about a half-eleven girl called Periwinkle who had the power to char her enemies. There was definitely a scene in a forest with incinerated bodies and the smell of burning flesh.

Has anyone ever looked back at their old old writing and think to themselves, "Wow, how did my parents not have me tested?" Well, I had one of those moments.  Hola, I'm Trula. And I am a potato in search of friends. Welcome to my ...

TheTeenageWriter And, if I'm writing for a y/a audience, should the main protag be 14, 15, or 16? It takes place in a fictisious victorian era, just to keep in mind.

Kate I read somewhere that the MC should be 2 years older than your intended audience.

About

I'm an awkward teenager that has been writing since I can remember. For the past three years, I have been writing a book I feel like I can publish. Someday. Once I gain the courage.

I ride English style horseback, and I love drawing. When I'm not writing, I'm either reading, drawing, or crying in a corner because my story is driving me crazy. Yep. I'm one of those insane writers. Oh, and while I'm doing all that I'm listening to music. (I have synesthesia) Broadway, Hamilton, Be More Chill, Phantom of the Oprea and Dear Evan Hansen are some of my favorites.

I'm looking for Beta Readers on this website because if you hand a 395-page book to a high schooler and ask them to read it and give back their opinion, you'll get a sarcastic laugh then get the book thrown back in your face. So yeah, Beta Readers...I need 'em.
