    Goodness me! Well, Danny the Champion of the World, was the most marvellous and exciting book for a young boy to read with wonderfully evocative illustrations by Jill Bennett, so that's a favourite along with The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
    What are your working habits when you write?
    Are you the edit-every-sentence-ten-times type, or do you prefer to let rip?
    Prefer to let rip and edit afterwards
    Your ultimate writing ambition?
    To be a good writer and creator of children's fiction and storybooks. And to have created memorable characters that bring excitement and adventure to readers.
    Your worst habit?
    I like to eat just half a biscuit now and again and in doing so I leave the other half un-eaten in the biscuit tin.
    Your opinion on the books industry?
    I deeply respect the good folk of publishing
    Where do you write?
    On any scrap of paper that comes to hand.
    What else do you want Word Clouders to know? eg: do you have 9 cats / like paragliding / eat nothing but tinned fish / work in the bath / live in Kettering?
    Well I have a wonderful allotment with the most ginormous raspberries, blackcurrants and parsnips you have ever seen. I enjoy rock climbing, wild swim and exploring remote mountains in all weathers, sometimes I go missing for days on end.

I live in Hertfordshire and work in London in television. I studed art and design and then film, graphic design and mixed media as a degree.

I enjoy the outdoors and of course children's books.

Some my favourite illustrators are Angela Barrett, Patrick Benson (The Minpins), Oliver Jeffers and Judith Kerr (The Tiger who came to Tea).

I like Mary Nortons' The Borrowers, The Hobbit, Roll of Thunder Hear my cry, To Kill a MB and Paddington still makes me laugh.

Oh yes, The Wind in the Willows is another favourite with brilliant characters.
