About

Hmm... ok, well.. in a nutshell :-) trained as a professional dancer at the Royal Academy... performed for a bit, then went to Kings to study Dietetics, then worked in a hospital for a bit. Then freelanced and became a sports nutritionist, then wrote a reference book called Nutrition for the Dancer.. THEN...got the writing bug, and now onto my first novel (historical Fiction). I've finally found a passion.

I'm too shy to start posted bits of my book.. so I posted a few poems instead.

    Hi again Zee,
Have just noticed that your fav author is Ian Mcewan! Oh how "A Child In Time" was the bain of my life when I did A-Level English, he is a clever writer though.
    Any replies yet?

    Hi zee.
Glad to hear you've started to send and wish you the best of luck with that. I ain't doin too well this week. Manged to get to around chapter 6, tho I had to add in large chunks as I'd devised a new sub story line late on in my first draft, but have since become a little slack and just as I'm about to start sending to Agents, have decided I don't like chapter 1 as much as I should..oh oh. AS.

    Hi,
Its going ok so far. Did a second draft of a short story I've written on Sunday which improved it greatly and have worked my way carefully through three chapters of my novel so far. Am doing a really tight edit with my second draft so hopefully will only need a glossy third.
Have to work a half shift tommorow tho, in my annual leave too, boo!
    Take care AS.

    Hey Zee!
Hope you are well? Is the editing going okay? I've been a little slack of late with work an all but annual leave this week and time to get my head down!

I'm not entirely sure how long a second draft should or does in fact take me. I have always found that it gets much easier after I've sorted the first 3 or four chapters, they are the real pigs! I just find generally that once I'v egot into a novel, my writting improves and that it is always the first few chapters that need most work. I've been a bit naughty this time and have drafted my first three chapters four times before moving on, there is always that temptation to start sending to Agents who want 3 chapters or 30pp before I've editted the whole book. Hope you are doing well! Agent sure.

I certainly will keep in touch, its nice to hear people are experiencing the same trials as I am. As much as I moan about it, I'm working two long days today and tommorow so won't get to do any and I know I'll miss it! Speak soon.
