I have yet to hear of a shower that doesn't eventually leak through the ceiling. It's a real bummer. I bet you are REALLY pleased its fixed.

Re: shutter island. I think the truth is that it was all a set up. He didnt really see his partner on the rocks, or the woman in the cave at all. The lighthouse fence was put there as part of the illusion. The partner was always in on it, which is why he seemed nervous a few times and never left his side except 2 times, which were carefully managed. If you look back, bearing this in mind, things make sense - remember the start where the guards all met them with guns and all seemed so nervous and paranoid because 'there's a dangerous prisoner on the loose'? Well, there was, and it wasn't the woman, it was him.

I thought it was quite well done, when they told him he'd had a breakthrough before but regressed so they'd tried this elaborate scenario - and we think its worked this time, only to have him making it clear to his 'partner' on the steps that it hasn't worked, and the sorrow of said partner/doctor.

Hi Catfin - your shutter island comment got me. I loved the film, too, kept changing my mind about what might be going on all the way through, which is good for me as I usually manage to see it coming. how would you have liked to see the ending go?

I'm told that a publisher rarely goes for a working title, which I hope is not true because I love my book title.:)

... and 136,000 words isn't too long. It's a long book, but well within ordinary bounds. Send it to 10-12 agents. Use the advice on the tab at the top of the webpage. If you get stuck, then think about getting a WW critique ... and you'll get loads more help, advice & support here. Best of luck!
