  I can't limit the list to 7! Anything with a compelling story and "real" characters. Just finished Garth Stein's THE ART OF RACING IN THE RAIN - Utterly wonderful book that had me near-tears twice.

  To see someone sitting on the tube reading my book with a rapt expression on their face. Even better: if they recommend my book to me!

  When I'm writing, the rest of my world might as well come to a standstill.

  Anywhere I can. Trains are great.
