I'm going to disagree with myself in a minute - but I'd say yes. Love in its purest, perhaps simplest, form has always intrigued and inspired me. Beautiful beyond expression and fascinating as it is, I'm increasingly coming round to the notion that ...

Very interesting Gemma. Thanks for sharing. I have a vague recollection, but no idea where from, that it wasn't so simple if you were an employee and writing 'income' was a fraction of your wage - under those circumstances the tax people treat it ...

Jill Jill did sleep well and feels more like her old self this morning! :) Mr J never at Abbey Wood - it was Westbury-on-Trym in Bristol when he joined. Lo-oong time ago. Has just retired after 50 years in the workplace with only the first few in private practice!! Have a lovely day.

MarkR Thanks Jill. Whisks is an inspiration and a cracking writer. I'm hoping to become a trustee of a wildlife charity and was interviewed yesterday morning. Am mid-Badger poem today. Have a good day too.

Jill No doubt at all that you will be accepted as a trustee - how wonderful. Any chance of peeking at your Badger poem, when it is finished? :)

Jill Fingers crossed for trustee post and poem's comp success. I am fine and warm, but, on the subject of poems, I am about to run one past a Cloudie again. It is a significant one for me and is for the SSAFA project on here. Hoping that, once I have typed it in a pm, the darn thing will let me go to bed!!

MarkR Happy to read your poem Jill. I might yet play into the SSAFA project but don't want to over-commit and not keep a promise. I work in MOD so have a connection to the forces, like a lot of people of course. Put another log on the fire tonight.

Jill Hey - coincidence! Hubby just retired from MOD and that is the connection for my poem. Cyprus '74. Mr J has worked in Bristol and Bath. Long time ago. If I remember correctly he started off in the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works, but there have been so many name and other changes during his career. It's a small world. As for the poem, I will be posting on the Group wall soon and would welcome your comment. It seems to be completing some circle for me and has shifted something at a very deep level from the trauma we were caught up in. Going for an early night now and hopefully will sleep like a babe! :)

MarkR As Jill sleeps like a full kitten, Mr R, who works in Bath and Bristol might have rubbed shoulders with Mr J at Abbey Wood perhaps. I'll look forward to reading Cyprus '74 for sure. Night night

HI Eleanor, it's never been a problem to me but on checking I find I can edit/delete my posts in my blogs and in others. Handy for typos I've found. But I can't delete the comments of others, nor would I wish to. Not sure why your permissions are ...

Glad all calm and the shed WILL wait, it will have to! I'm feeling 'icky' as well. It seems, from other comments noted, that a virus has invaded our Cloudland.

Mark, writing in the style of a Master is not plagiarism. I watched the video you included and could see how you were inspired by Jesse J.

You couldn't have written your blog as well as you did without loving the music and and feeling the rhythm. My sound is always muted for fear of having my ears blasted unexpectedly but I see you have "Windmills of Your Mind" in your collection too. That's an old favourite of mine and of my Father's (1906-1973) so it must be a timeless Clessic.

I never heard it by Alison Moyet. Think I'll turn on the sound and see what Alison made of it.

Thank you for your instructive post on how to bring up a woodpecker - I shall apply the lessons forthwith. That's if he IS a woodpecker - still think he's a velociraptor :)

Thanks for the comments on my pic, Mark. Maybe I could practice drawing badgers too.... I bet there is a market for prints of British wild life. They'd look nice in graphite pencil I think.

:) Well.... seeing as you asked.....
I'm struggling with this week's homework. Have to plot my next novel! (That's all!) Barb has been her usual lovely helpful self and sent me a few suggestions for how to go about it; I have a new notebook; I have index cards; I have post-its in 4 colours; I have a pen. I have 3 full days to write this week! And am finding soooooo much essential housework to do instead...

    How's your writing going??
