No damage done Mac, I'm sure Mrs BB will be fine. There's a mouse keeps parking conkers in my car - methinks the engine roasts them. Resourceful these wildlife - maybe we could learn a thing or two.

JonB - I've heard my singing voice, so you're very astute in only joining me for the instrumental. BH in November - me too. Richard B - not old, discerning. You're not brothers by any chance? B is quite an unusual surname.

There's a post-script, about the dislocation of people and nature, but not an unhappy one. There are other people like Whisks, who care enough to do something to protect and care for animals, birds and wildlife. Destructive, ignorant beings of all ...

Well Whisks, m'dear. It's taken 24 hours after a very brief view yesterday night to read this blog in full and all the lovely comments. I got the gist of it last night and it has weighed heavily all day, but heaviest now. So I sit here, ankle deep ...

Not my genre, but a fabulous competition - inspiring and great deal for the winner. If I were remotely a writer for the younger audience (and remotely funny), I'd be leaping at this brilliant opportunity. Good job!

Just thought I'd ask - re the April comp, is it good or bad form to post more than one entry? My current one is a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I have a more philosophical one brewing!

Yes, cubs are v cute, aren't they? Not seen mine yet - don't expect to until about May but I know they're born because the vixens are baggy underneath - and ravenous. Orphaned/lost/abandoned cubs appearing at rescue centres though.

Good morning, Mark. Hope this finds you down off Cloud 9 and back firmly on our Cloud! Good competition theme for April, but I probably won't enter this one, as lots to do before going away at end of April. I shall tune in on our return and look at all the entries and the winner, however. :) Jillx
