About
I am a crime writer. I'm also an academic, a trade unionist and Chair of the Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society.
I’ve worked in a variety of jobs which have taken me into pathology labs, operating theatres and medical schools across Europe. I live with my husband and a transient population of family members and animals, large and small, in an old farmhouse in an East Yorkshire village.
My crime novel, Like False Money, the first in a PI series came out in Feb 2010. The third in the series is out June 2010. The second in the series is underway. I am good at Maths despite writing my books in the wrong order. And I'm NOT 13 years old but can't get my profile to say any differently.

by PennyG 1 year agoThank you Minxie and Tony. I'll post progress. It won't be lightning quick. I don't get to visit here more than about once a month - too much to do in the day jobs. It's a great forum though. The Jawbone Gang will be my third in my PI series. The 2nd is now on limited time discounted sale from the publisher - link from my website pennygrubb.com - sorry, that was a blatant bit of self-promo, but you know how it is, you're all writers! All the best with your current projects.

by Caducean Whisks 1 year agoHi Penny, your words came as both a message and a wallpost, so you've managed both - congrats! I doubt that luck has much to do with a happy marriage, but that's too big a topic for a wall post. Explore away on the Cloud - there are topics for most people, and if you find a gap, feel free to start your own thread. Easy peasy!

by John Taylor 1 year agoWelcome to the cloud, young Penny. I wouldn't bother to change your age!
Unpublished myself, I benefitted from the work of the ALCS for a while after my father died, and I can appreciate how complex their work can become.
It's good to know that there will be a member of the cloud with that kind of knowledge. I began writing a series in the wrong order, too, but have now reverted to a linear approach. I got confused! -
by Caducean Whisks 1 year agoWhat a lovely photo of (I assume) you and your husband. You both look so happy.

by Weens 1 year agoHi, and welcome to the cloud. I must say that you have achieved a lot of things for a 13 year old, - grin! (check the age on your profile.) Welcome and enjoy.
