  I like the second one, Stephen. It's going somewhere and leads to imaginative possibilities, whereas the first one is static - sit down and the action stops. The second also resonates more with 'No Come Back', whereas the first doesn't have any implied motion at all.

  I agree with Whisks. The top one made me think too much along the lines of holiday romance rather than murder in paradise. Like the change of title :-)

  Absolutely the second one - it's perfect as it's a one way street - walk too far, fall off the end and there is no come back - it has the sense of intrigue and danger in a beautiful setting, and also references that old school come back 'why don't you take a long walk off a short pier,' so yes, the second one.

  I'd agree; the second. But I don't know what the turquoise patch is halfway along. I'm presuming it's not something with any relevance to the story. In which case, you ought to photoshop it out, as it would needlessly distract.

  Thanks guys - unanimous decision. The second one it is, which is a picture of Bophut pier, an embarkment for trips to other islands. The turquoise patch is a patch - scary isn't it!
  And I8 - I've replied to your message - the draft cover is brilliant.

  Yep, the 2nd without doubt. The 1st is where you'd sit to write about something sinister. The 2nd might be where it's dumped. Would love to see a draft of the cover. It's a part of the art I'm getting into slowly.
