by EmmaD 1 month agoThank you for a all the lovely birthday wishes, everyone! Had a great day - it was Easter Day till after churchgoers had come home and Easter Hare had visited, and then it was my birthday... And I hope everyone else had a good holiday weekend too.

by Charlie 3 months agoTorture in parts; writing a villanelle was fun. The way it consumed not just time but also my mind was scary, esp the last few weeks. Finished on a high as I gave it my best (even went on an emergency visit to the Scottish Poetry Library for inspiration). In the next two weeks self-doubt will subsume my optimism until I collect the result expecting the worst. But never mind, that seems to be the writerly way.

by Charlie 3 months agoWould respectfully like to suggest that a health warning be added to the poetry section of the BRB. I have accosted complete strangers to share my distress about not being able to enjamb my mind meaningfully into poetry after friends and family stopped asking me how I was. And I dimly remember having children hidden somewhere in this messy house...
