I've just come back from the Lake District. Stayed in a tiny cottage, saw 3 osprey and climbed my 3rd ever mountain (well, walked it mainly.) I also visited Hill Top House which made me feel very emotional. A timeless author captured in time.

Hi CJ. I have read your blog but haven't had chance to read all the comments as I'm on lunch in work and don't get long! I know we have to be careful what we wish for but in this case it was't just a wish that landed in your lap. It was born ...

If you want to win then never give in. No matter how hard dedications the word. (doesn't strictly rhyme.) Never say no then give it a go. This is hard! Good luck with it.

I've never even attempted a love story, Mike but I can see how this tale could make a really good one in the right hands. It has lust, hardship and heartache and that's just scratching the surface. I like reading about real life events. I'm half ...

This response may seem a bit mixed up as I can see this from both my point of view and theirs. Maybe not me personally, but writers also have something worth having and in terms of how we communicate, in particular, it has to be a lot more equal. ...

I haven't had them for a couple of years now but I used to constantly suffer from hypnagogic hallucinations (at least, I looked up what could be causing it and this is what I found.) They feel so real. One night a liquorice arm slithered over me. I ...

I won't nominate James Brodie from Hatters Castle but (and I'm giving this example from the film not a novel I've read) what about the dad in 'This Happy Breed.' He held it all together even when swigging whisky in the under stair cupboard whilst ...

Quite so. Oddly I was passing Plymouth last Saturday (week last Sat) around wedding time and thought of you. Of course, the wedding might have been anywhere, but there you go. As I recall, the sun shone. Feathers, as you say, not required.

I realise these are the words of a bias, proud mum but it was a beautiful day. I don't think I've ever seen so many smiley people in one place before. I think you may be right about the hat... Feathers are overrated! :)

I commented on your wall last night but will again. It's very moving to read again today even without the Westminster Abbey choir singing and my candle lit. Thanks for sharing these words, Tony...

A sense of style is important and allied to a size appropriate to the occasion that sounds like a well judged hat. A feather would have detracted, not a doubt of it.

I hope you had a lovely day.

I'll def. look it up, Minx - just my kind of thing. In fact, I'll pop on to *shush* Amazon and have a see if there's anything there. Damn, did I miss your visit to France? We're the poorer for your exit :-) Take care. Stevie x

It certainly is, Minx - confusing I mean, and different on the Clod. Have you been tandem jumping with a pet rodent? Anyway, good to see you back - however briefly. Oh, and love your profile music! x
