It doesn't surprise me that there is interest in your work but for things to happen all at once like this is totally amazing! You must be happy, confused, excited, muddled and focused all at the same time, let alone all the other emotions trying to ...

MinxieAD I bumped into my friend Anna on Monday who came out of the closet about her writing! (Not sure why there's so many closet writers, but there you go.) She was shocked to find out that I too like to write and I proceeded to invite her to join the Cloud (hope she does) which led to her inviting me to a Friday writing group with other closet writers who make you promise to not tell a soul about their involvement in the black ink art... We've both been doing 'it' since we were small and have been friends for 10 years-ish.

Esme D I found closet artists, but so far no writers - when I asked at the library about the writing group that meets there I was told "It's just old ladies writing poems about kittens". btw, thanks for the introduction to Hinder on your page :)

Jillybean Having only come out of that closet myself six months ago I am now wondering why I didn't bump into more people in its dark recesses. There seem to be an awful lot of us who write so covertly you'd think we were code breaking for MI5!

Glad you liked the story. I think the word count is 'around 300 words', so a bit of overspill is fine. Last month I tried to keep religiously to under 300, but it's very difficult compared with 300-and-a-bit, surprisingly so in fact.

Great minds and all that Minxie!! It's actually a play mentioned in Parson's Advanced Bridge (a book I'm still busy writing) it's called the Bacchanian Finesse. There is another, really easy way to win at social Bridge, you just learn the basics, and then learn how to Score. Never fails, no-one wants to Score, so you just pretend to be a bit reluctant, sigh and then agree. I've won every time by doing that!! Not quite sure what to call it yet, cheating seems a bit obvious!

Hi again, forgot to tell you, Bridge was a bit stressful today, I forgot my wine!! Plus, as I got there this 'woman' came running up to me and said "Oh Caf! I'm so glad you're here, you're so nice, and I don't feel any stress when I'm competing against you!" Huh, and at first I thought she was complimenting me!!!
