MarkR No apologies needed Alan - just too good an opportunity to resist. I'm very partial to badgerales and am often to be found with tangledfeet as a result.

by Noodledoodle 2 months agoAw Prop :-) Spi & I have been having the odd chat since the first idea popped into my head and she has been so helpful and supportive.
Spi, having read that first SK book 'Remember me', I found it weak, repetitive and some of it didn't ring true no matter how hard I tried to believe it! And I can't help but think I am writing something raw in comparison which is making me question the genre ... I must be going crazy. No - I am sure it is chick lit, just a little more hard nosed. I hate all that pussy stuff!! -
by SecretSpi 2 months agoIf you haven't already, read Matt Beaumont's books for advertising as it really is. There's also Frederic Beigbeder, 99 Francs or 9.99 (there's a film, too, which I haven't seen but Jean Dujardin is in it). And I expect Sophie Kinsella has written one or two set in ad agencies but I haven't read them...

by Noodledoodle 2 months agoforcing myself once again in the name of research to read books in my genre. I am now reading 'The Deveil wears Prada'. Can't say I am enjoying it - she uses the word 'behemoth' 3 times in the first 35 pages to describe 3 different things - what the hell is a behemoth anyway?
