About
I am a new author and on the verge of self-publishing my first novel, The Drought. The Drought tells the story of Daniel Hilles, a man who, following the dramatic break-up of his three-year relationship, finds himself in the throes of a sexual drought, leaving him desperate and determined to get his leg over. As he copes with this dearth and a mind-numbing job to boot, it is only his friends who keep him sane…
The subject matter of this book is the male of the human species’ eternal desire for sexual gratification – and the woe that accompanies not getting it. It is essentially a frivolous comic novel that is anchored in the laddishly likeable persona of Danny and his three best friends from school, Rob, Ollie and Jack, though it also touches lightly on more serious matters such as the nature of friendship (both male and male-female), the intimacies of coupledom that go beyond the purely sexual, and social issues.
You can find out more information about The Drought here: http://www.stevenscaffardi.co.uk/chapter.html
I am also writing two blogs. One is about my experience of being a self-published author on printweek.com. And the other is a bit more light-hearted and fun, called My Pal Popeye. You can find both blogs here:

Apart from writing, I am also a stand-up comedian and I have been active on the open mic comedy scene since January 2011. You can see my video clips here: http://www.stevenscaffardi.co.uk/videos.html
