Greetings Jacquie. I just happened to see your recent comment on 'Can Good Writing be Taught?. Don't see much of you around. I hope all is well with you. It was lovely meeting you, albeit so briefly, in York.

Happy birthday, Jacquie! I hope you have a lovely birthday, whenever it is. Like Tony, I'm not sure because the Cloud isn't sure.

    xx

Jacquie! Have a bubblingly beautiful birthday. (Not sure if it's today or tomorow; it's past midnight, but I don't know if the Cloud know that ;-)

    Best wishes,
    Tony

Jacquie, thanks so much for yur concern... Just busy yesterday, adn again today. Yesterday was the memorial for Danny at teh school. His classmates were amazing -- so brave! I could never get up and speak as they did: very simply and eloquently about how they cared for their friend... There were about 10-12 parents there, also.
Many unanswered questions about the accident -- it may have been a hit and run as the boy who survived has a memory of a 'lady with shade' and someone removed helmets before the lorry driver who eventually helped them came on the scene (it was a quiet country road). Believe it or not, ambulances here do not carry paramedics, and I'm not sure about the drivers' report, though apparently Danny was still alive in the ambulance and died later... So whoever DIDn'T call for help in the first place, and left the scene, may well have been responsible for his death. Very upsetting. I'm not sure how much his parents know, I have this from the mother of the other boy... Anyway. We're fine. Thanks again for asking :). This has shaken my kids, but I hope that they will learn something from it.
    Hug.
