Yes, our swallows have appeared too. Each year they like to nest in the woodshed. It's wonderful to watch them swooping round the garden and teaching their young how to fly, while managing to dodge our very interested two cats.

Hello Agasaga - what a brilliant name. I feel old too. Yep loved all those series, and we laughed out loud and not much swearing on them either. But then we used to laugh until we cried when we reversed the video when everyone walked backwards. :) Medically speaking we are classed as old even tho 60 is the new 40, try telling that to my body in the mornings.

Ha! At last, I can see your wall. I'll come back when it's dark and graffiti all over it!

He and I were wittering on the other day about that very fact. Remember 'Dad's Army' ? 'The Good Life' ? 'Butterflies'? What is there to compare these days, apart from 'Gavin and Stacey'? I feel very old....

Oh. Pardon the misunderstanding...I got carried away in the moment. Yes, a nice civil servants pension would do, wouldn't it! Just bought the entire Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister series for the other half who cringes at the incompetence of said branch. He's in HM Forces and suffers daily at their hands...

I'm not surprised you couldn't resist at that price. I wish I'd noticed it, though I don't get into Waterstones that often - our local town doesn't have one. I'm trying hard not to buy any more books at the moment, but give it a couple of weeks... Those 3 for 2's are very tempting, though I'm also trying to support the local independent book chain in one the neighbouring towns - the fact that they also sell chocolate and are next door to a coffee shop helps!

Thanks for the Sarah Waters link. I almost never buy hardbacks, but am very tempted by The Little Stranger. Then it would jump to the top of the already too-big reading pile. I want it, and I want it now. Must resist... Family needs to eat...
