Don't we all look so happy? That particular gig was out in the
sticks somewhere for a private party. One big marquee, and a very
disgruntled farmer as it was 'a bit louder than I expected, guys'.
Still, at least he paid us!
(Reply to Jill's post). Actually, that was during a soundcheck, I
think I was trying to see if I could get the engineer to tweak
things as my guitar was giving a lot of feedback. In the end, I
bought the guitar you see in the other picture. Known as a 'silent
guitar', the fact that it doesn't have a body prevents resonant
feedback, with the result that I could crank up the amp to my
heart's content and produce a reasonable 'classical guitar' tone
(although the quality is a little off from a proper Spanish
guitar). :)
LOL Alan -- we tried to remove it from the drummer's head, but it
was superglued on. Later, after we had plied him with a few drinks,
we discovered that he was hooked on film depictions of Robin Hood
-- so much so that he decided a Friar Tuck haircut was the order of
the day. He also watched far too much early Black Adder, which
really cinched the idea...
No, really.... you are right, it's a bad hat, nearly as bad as my
joke!
