About

Reading was my first love, music came shortly after. Film and TV used to disagree with me as I thought they detracted attention away from books, but now I can really appreciate just how much effort goes into writing screenplays and for the stage, and I love to watch something well written (as long as the acting does it justice)! All the time that I'm reading or watching TV/ films, I'm just trying to soak in everything that went into the writing of it and wondering how I can use all these storylines that get me passionate or emotional or angry and turn those feelings into a great piece of work that can stir someone else! For someone who works with words, it's surprisingly humbling when something takes my breath away :)

I'm stuck for now. Creativity has evaporated... But luckily some wonderful suggestions have come my way from others currently inhabiting the Cloud, so I am feeling more optimistic and inspired!

hullo! I couldn't really say how it is experimental - perhaps it isn't. But that is what I like reading, and I think it must rub off in some way.

    I didn't even realise I had a picture...I'm not sure it's a keeper.

Definately! :) I have actually written another novel, a horror, and I have a weird sci-fi in mind but I'm going to wait till after my exams and events before I really start concentrating on them. Yeah it is hard work and a little nerve raking but great fun and you feel really good about having done it! You've got a lot to look forward to! At one of the events I'm telling people about the book and reading an extract, then signing copies, at another I'm hosting a Q&A session for a teen book club and at another I'm doing a straight signing so it's a mix and match really. For the benifit of anyone who decides to turn up! I can imagine it being a real disaster with no one except my friends turning up but I can hope for better! With the literary festival, the organisers contacted the local waterstones and asked them if they knew any local children's authors so they passed my details on! :D Yeah Amazon stock my book!! Halleluiah! Thanks! :D Yeah it does get to me a little, but I don't mind so much, at least they're listening! DEATH TO WORD LIMITS!!!

Scatterbee it's nice to see young writers. I wish I had done something earlier. A writing course is a very good idea. I have a sone a year older than you. He is studying to be a luthier (maker of stringed instruments!). He is following his heart. Wish I'd followed mine! Never too late though.

    Go for it!
