  What are your working habits when you write?

  Your ultimate writing ambition?
  To live up to the critique I received from my B.A. studies all the way through my Ph.D.: that I am a better writer than philosopher (and I think I was not a bad philosopher...).
  Your worst habit?
  Over-ambitious multi-tasking. Of course I can work on three different novels in between answering plaintive calls for "Mommy," teaching an evening class, cooking, cleaning, etc... What could possibly go wrong?

  It is a tough game, but everyone does their best

  I left academia (I was a lecturer in philosophy) because It was a drag to have to cite my sources, and because my whimsical footnotes were under-appreciated.
